Key Responsibilities - Thermocouple Technician

• Execute thermocouple testing
• Learn and understand the curing process of a tire.
• Use soldering pit to create thermocouple lips using dual-metal wire.
• Take apart and build various sized tires with appropriate thermocouple tip placements placed in the cross-section of the tire with attention to detail
• Conduct thermocouple tire tests (loading, monitoring, and unloading) to collect temperature data as tires goes through curing process.
• Organize order of tests based upon schedule and tire availability in a self-sufficient manner.
• Measure and cut cross-section of tire, being sure to find all thermocouple wire tips in appropriate locations.
• Buff cross-sections to make smooth for viewing using grinding wheel.
• Use computer and Excel to convert raw data files to more easily understand and analyze.
• Prepare materials and build thermocouple tires
• Measure, cut, and buff tire
• Review work with Cure Compounder
• Operate presses and cut-down machine

Required Skills and Knowledge - Thermocouple Technician

• Mechanical/electrical background
• Basic computer skills
• Team player
• Self-starter

Education and Experience - Thermocouple Technician

• High school required, Bachelor's or Associate's degree preferred
