Our Fortune 500 client is looking for a candidate to become part of their Global Material Science department in Akron, Ohio, in a 2-year Post-Doctoral Research position.
The Global Material Science department seeks a highly motivated and hands-on associate to deepen the understanding of the relationships between material structure and tire road performance. Laboratory experimentation will be conducted to fundamentally understand the effects of rubber formulation (elastomers, fillers, curatives, and other additives) and aging conditions on fracture, fatigue, cracking and tearing mechanisms for tire applications.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for science and technology to systematically design and conduct hands-on formulating, mixing, curing and mechanical testing experiments to address these fundamental questions. The successful candidate will be naturally inquisitive and display strong observation skills, analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and high energy. A Doctorate degree in a related field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science is required. Experience working with elastomer formulations is preferred.
